A Tiong Bahru Landmark Since 1979

Delta Sport Centre opened on 7 November 1979 as one of the first HDB sports complexes in Singapore. It was built to serve residents in Bukit Ho Swee, Henderson, Redhill and Alexandra, and housed the first indoor stadium built by the Housing and Development Board.

The original complex cost $5 million and sat on three hectares. It had a football field, badminton courts, a multi-purpose sports hall seating 850 people, and three swimming pools. Before the sport centre was built, the site was occupied by the 120-year-old Tang Suahn Kiong Temple, which stood there from 1858 to 1978.

In September 2019, the complex closed for a major renovation. COVID delays pushed the reopening from 2020 to 30 April 2023. The redesign by Red Bean Architects won the Design of the Year award at the 2025 President's Design Award. The renovation added four futsal courts under the original cantilevered grandstand roof, a new ActiveSG gym above the indoor pool, and a colourful water play area for children.

What's at Delta

Water Play Area

Splash pad with flower-shaped fountains and water jets. Free to use, no pool entry fee needed. Popular with young families on weekends.

Wading Pool

Nearest CAMS centre

Assessments are held at Jalan Besar Swimming Complex.

Delta Swimming Complex is not a CAMS assessment centre. SwimSafer classes run here, but the formal in-pool test for certification takes place at your nearest centralised centre.

Assessment days at Jalan Besar Swimming Complex: Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

There are five CAMS centres in Singapore. Your coach will usually book your child into the closest one. Families can also reschedule through the CAMS Platform if the default session doesn't suit.
