Singapore's First Sheltered Olympic Pool
Jurong West Swimming Complex opened on 10 November 2006 and introduced something no other public pool in Singapore had at the time - a sheltered 50-metre Olympic-sized competition pool with 8 lanes. Rain or shine, lap swimmers and competitive training carry on uninterrupted.
Beyond the sheltered pool, the complex has an outdoor 50-metre training pool, a fun pool with water slide, a lazy river, jacuzzi and kiddy pool. With 465 spectator seats, it also hosts swimming competitions and school events.
Its location just 100 metres from Pioneer MRT makes it one of the most convenient public pools in Singapore. Jurong West is one of three public pools in the district. Jurong East Swimming Complex (jurongeastswimming.com) has a wave pool and lazy river, and Jurong Lake Gardens Pool (jurongswimming.com) is a newer lakeside facility.

Jurong West Swimming Complex is not a CAMS assessment centre. SwimSafer classes run here, but the formal in-pool test for certification takes place at your nearest centralised centre.

Singapore Swimming Academy runs SwimSafer classes at the teaching pool. Group and private lessons are available for children and adults. Coaches are SportSG SwimSafer accredited and preparation covers:
- Stages 1 to 3: foundation water skills through to 50 metres continuous swimming.
- Bronze (Stage 4): stroke improvement, rescue skills, 100m continuous.
- Silver (Stage 5): diving, H.E.L.P. position, advanced rescue.
- Gold (Stage 6): 400m over six strokes, self-made float rescue.
